A school day with more in it
Life at Rugby School Dubai is shaped by relationships, opportunity and a strong sense of belonging. They are encouraged to try new things, discover what matters to them and grow in confidence. Just as importantly, every student is known and supported. Pastoral care and wellbeing are part of everyday school life, helping children feel secure enough to be curious, ambitious and themselves. Students move between classrooms, Houses, studios, performance spaces and sports facilities, learning to contribute as well as achieve.
Find what you love
Known. Valued. Supported.
Wellbeing is woven into school life. Our Wellbeing Team and Senior Leadership Team work together to create an environment where students feel safe, supported and ready to learn. Daily check-ins, wellbeing assemblies, safeguarding practice and age-appropriate social and emotional learning help children build resilience, confidence and healthy habits.
Local roots. Global outlook.
Rugby School Dubai brings a long-established educational ethos into one of the world's most international cities. Emirati culture and values sit alongside a global outlook, helping students appreciate different perspectives while understanding their responsibility to the community around them. Through service, House life and shared experiences, students learn that confidence matters most when it is matched by humility, empathy and contribution.
Growing into the person you become
The Rugby Learner Profile gives students a shared language for growth. They are encouraged to become resilient, enquiring, communicative and collaborative, globally minded, versatile and reflective. These qualities are developed across academic learning, sport, the arts, leadership and service - so students leave with more than knowledge. They leave knowing how to think, work with others, respond to challenge and keep learning.
The Rugby Way
Passing exams is only one aspect of education.
At Rugby School Dubai, we want students to develop a deep understanding of their subjects, think critically and question what they hear and read. We encourage them to think independently, rather than rely on a computer to do the thinking, and to express their views confidently while listening to feedback. These are lasting skills.
You will do your prep (homework) in the evenings, on your own and at your own pace, preparing for the next day’s lessons. You will concentrate on what you are reading, and reflect on the knowledge you have acquired.
The culture of our classrooms may be different from what you are used to.
You won’t be sitting alone at a desk, but at a table in a small group. You will not be waiting to shoot your hand up when a teacher asks for an answer. Nor will you be sitting passively listening to what a teacher is telling you. Our lessons are discussions with teachers and fellow students – collaborative learning.
Our teachers know how to motivate individual students, and how to pitch lessons at the right level. They will provoke questions and stimulate debate. In this way, you will learn to organise your thoughts (and maybe change your mind), test your memory, express your views with confidence and deal with challenges from the other students. We know that human interaction really does accelerate learning. Your knowledge and understanding will be stretched as the class focuses on resolving the questions or problems that arose from what you were studying the night before. This shared intellectual endeavour prepares students for the world of work, whatever path they choose.
